PEOPLE OF SISLI WISH TO GET RID OF THE MENTALITY WHICH USES THEM AS A SPRING BOARD, THEY DEMAND SERVICE
Stating that Sisli would obtain better services with AK Party, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said, "People of Sisli wish to get rid of the mentality which uses them as a spring board, they demand service".
Bagis participated in the meeting titled "If I were" which was held by AK Party Sisli District Organisation in Mecidiyekoy Culture Centre.
Indicating that the public desired to have a mayor to whom they could convey their demands and complaints, Bagis stated, "People of Sisli wish to get rid of the mentality which uses them as a spring board, they demand service. Consider how quick Kagithane which is nearby transformed itself into its current state and how Fatih ve Bayrampasa municipalities progressed, people of Sisli demand these services which they deserve as well. In brief, Sisli demand Emin Haberdar".
Stating "There is a legend in Sisli. This legend is not true; back streets in Sisli still resemble 1990s", Bagis said that they determined Emin Haberdar as Sisli Mayor Candidate after long discussions with people of Sisli.
Indicating that his election as a deputy was due largely to the people of Sisli and that he could never repay for it, Minister for EU Affairs Bagis noted,
"There are people who speak of disasters due to the global crisis. A great deal of banks went bankrupt after the constitution booklet had been thrown during a discussion. Has any bank went bankrupt during our period? While many banks in Europe went bankrupt, nothing happened to ours in Turkey. We follow closely, every development. Recently, Hillary Clinton, in Turkish televisions, said 'Turkish Government has managed to cope with the crisis better than we did.' Isn't this heard by the opposing parties?
I am the youngest minister of the 60th government. I always defend the rights of the youth. Don't consider their unreal Kemalism. AK Party is the most Kemalist Party of Turkey. Throughout the history of Turkish Republic, there were a lot of women representatives in the national assembly established by Ataturk. They made speeches about this for years. But, most of the woman candidates are founded in AK Party in Turkey."
Egemen Bagis stated that there were a lot of problems in Sisli and for this reason; there were a need to a municipality administered by AK Party in that district. He also added that, according to the surveys which had been carried out there, they were two scores ahead.
Pointing out that there were great reactions of the public against the existing administration in Sisli, he said "Little time is left. Sisli will be safe in 29 March."
