"WE DON'T REALIZE ANY OF OUR REFORMS IN ORDER TO CONTENT EUROPEANS"

Egemen Bagıs, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator stated that they didn't realize any of the reforms in order to content the Europeans.

Visiting the Elazıg municipal building with Elazıg Governor Muammer Erol, Bagis inquired Elazıg Mayor Suleyman Selmanoglu about the works carried out.

In the press conference Bagıs thanked for the hospitality which represents historical culture of Elazıg.

Expressing that he extended the greetings of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Bagis added that he once again understood the great vision of Prime Minister Erdogan during the transition process of Mayor Selmanoglu to AK Party.

Noting that the secret of AK Party's success was "humanity", Bagıs continued his speech as follows:

"We pave the way for EU and work for the Turkish people to reach the standards they deserve. We don't make any of our reforms in order to content the Europeans. We are making reforms so that our people can be contented, have more contemporary living conditions, democracy, stronger freedom of expression and human rights.

Bagıs noted that Prime Minister Erdogan, with his philanthropic approach, gathered offended leaders, pacified the countries which were about to fight, reconciled between Afghanistan and Pakistan, compromised between Israel and Syria, between Russia and Georgia, conducted the co-presidency of alliance of civilizations and solved the problems of the world as a member of United Nations Security Council.

In conclusion Bagıs stated that they signed the Nabucco Gas Pipeline Project which would make great contributions to Elazıg.

Expressing that this project was the most comprehensive project of the world, Bagıs said: "Nabucco is a project guaranteeing that gas will be transferred for peace and stability in the areas which were unrestful in the past. Today with such projects as gas pipelines, oil or water pipelines, countries are integrated more. Our country is not only the centre of peace and tolerance but also the centre of energy in the world and I hope Turkey will continue its success."Resource: AA
