    TURKISH WOMEN ENJOY VOTING AND BEING ELECTED FOR THE LAST 75 YEARS

    Egemen Bagis, Minister for EU Affairs and the Chief Negotiator, attended the event which was held to celebrate the 75th anniversary of granting the women's rights to vote and be elected. The event was organized by AK Party Women Branch. Emine Erdogan, wife of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, also participated in the event.

    Sadullah Ergin, Minister of Justice; Nimet Cubukcu, Minister of National Education; Selma Aliye Kavaf, Minister of State and women deputies participated in the program organized in AK Party's headquarters.

    In her speech, stressing that women mustn't be ostracized from education, production, labour force, society, justice and politics and mustn't be excluded from the democratic mechanisms, Emine Erdogan noted that 9 women were appointed by Egemen Bagis to 16 senior posts at the Secretariat General for EU Affairs and presented Bagis with a plaque for his sensitivity to the issue.
