    TURKEY ASKS EU'S CONCRETE COOPERATION

Egemen Bagis, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator, sommoned Marc Pierini, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey,  to his ministry to talk about the latest terrorist attacks in Hakkari and expressed that Turkish nation expected concrete cooperation in fight against terrorism.
Indicating that there were no grey areas in the fight against terrorism, Bagis said “ Those who try to create a grey area contribute, with or without intent, to this murderous organization. I would like to call upon those who have condoned terrorism for years on the basis of human rights. There is no other right more valuable than the right to life. We believe that genuine friendship must be rooted in sincerity.  On such a day, we have an even higher expectation of the demonstration of this sincerity from our friends.”
Emphasizing that there was no right that can justify the violation of the right to life, Bagis indicated that to refer to terrorism and human rights at the same time would only result in increasing the attacks by the terrorist organization and the further loss of young lives.
Bagis reminded that the Progress Report had criticized the KCK operations and said “I hope those criticizing the KCK operations in the Progress Report have realized their mistake. Those who are empowered by the nation and who let this power be manipulated by the murderers shooting their own people should get a message also. European countries shouldn’t remain silent to the PKK terrorism that attacks their people too.”
Indicating that they had a chance to discuss the incident in detail with Marc Pierini, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey, Bagis said the Commission would release a condemnation on behalf of Stefan Füle, EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy, and Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
Stating that upon the attack in which 11 soldiers lost their life last year, EU provided a stronger cooperation in fight against terrorism and in intelligence sharing due to the efforts of some EU ambassadors, Bagis said “Turkish nation expects concrete cooperation. No power can discourage Turkey from fight against terrorism. No power can discourage Turkey from its resolution in establishing an advanced democracy and a civilian constitution. No power can prevent Turkey’s gaining strength.”
“Today, the betrayers have taken away the right of living of 24 young people. I would like to express my deepest condolences to all our people” said Bagis.
