TURKEY AND EU DIALOGUE WITH PHOTOGRAPHS EXHIBITION
The opening ceremony of Dialogue with Photographs Exhibition, as part of Turkey-EU Civil Society Dialogue Project run by the Ministry for EU Affairs, was hosted by Mr. Egemen Bagis, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator.
In the speech he made during the inauguration ceremony held at TAV Gallery in Ankara Esenboga Airport, Minister Bagis said that civil society organisations which have an important role in the EU accession process, were the natural members of the negotiation team. During his speech Minister Bagis indicated that Civil Society Dialogue Projects being run through EU funds within the context of Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA) programme, had been going on since 2008 and within the framework of this programme, hundreds of Turkish civil society organisations had a chance to meet, work and produce with their European counterparts and they also benefited from each other’s experience.
Bagis said,”Turkey’s photograph has changed a lot in the last ten years and the EU reforms have contributed a lot to this. The exhibition that we are going to inaugurate today displays how Turkey-EU relations are captured by the shutter of a camera and how the relations between Turkey and the EU are changed in the last 10 years”. Bagis noted that inauguration of the exhibition at Esenboga Airport which is elected to be the best airport in Europe had a different meaning.
The Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis, the deputy head of the delegation of the European Commission to Turkey, Tibor Varadi, the CEO of TAV Airports Holding, Sani Sener, embassy representatives, grant beneficiaries and a large number of guests participated in the ceremony.
