TRNC WILL CONTINUE TO BE RESPECTED IN THE WORLD NO MATTER WHAT

At the commencement day of Girne American University which celebrates its 25th anniversary, the President of TRNC, Derviş Eroğlu in the field of "Political Sciences and Public Administration, and The Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator, Egemen Bagiş in the field of "International Relations", were given the honorary title of doctorate.

Egemen Bagis, in his speech he delivered at the ceremony, stated that GAU which had taken off with 50 students had now 6 thousand students from 68 different countries who gave friendship, sympathy and peace messages to the world and who said they "removed the isolation".

Stating that those who should be celebrated are youngsters, Bagis said addressing TRNC President, Eroğlu, that "Mr President, these young people have removed the isolation, I hope we will achieve the rest."

Bagis, stated that Mr Eroglu on the date of his election as the President gave the message that "TRNC would not be the side leaving the negotiation table and he would do his best to achieve peace via diplomatic ways and he would follow the path of the Second President of Republic Mehmet Ali Talat Bagis continued as follows:

"Now some people's games have been spoilt. The games of those, who want to prevent Turkey's EU accession process, counteract the world peace and isolate the TRNC have been spoilt. From now on, you will also spoil those games as our youths and students who will go to different countries after graduating from college."

Bagis, who indicated that whether some people accept or not TRNC would continue to be respected in the whole world, stated that the world now started to realize the important points. Bagis said: "Behind all these lie our reliance, determination and solidarity."

Bagis said that, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan did not segregate TRNC from other parts of Turkey and that the more they concentrated on the development of Turkey, the more they paid attention to TRNC's development.

Indicating that TRNC continued to give peace messages, Bagis stated that even at the TRNC's declaration of independence they offered a hand of peace to Greek populated southern Cyprus and he pointed out that the ones who prevented the peace were seen by the whole world now.
