THIS PACKAGE IS GOOD FOR TURKEY

Participating in the opening ceremony of Ortakoy Referendum Contact Centre established by AK Party's Besiktas Subprovincial Organization, Minister for EU Affairs and the Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis referred to the constitutional amendment package and he said: "Rendering this package political, grouping the people in this country, would not be of any use to anybody"

Bagis stated that on 12 September, the citizens would not be voting on AK Party's constitutional package but rather , they would decide on whether to pave the way for Turkey's future or not. Bagis said: "Do we want Turkey to progress beyond the level of modern civilizations as Ataturk showed as a target? Then we should know quite well what we will vote for."

Bagis said: "If we want a transparent judiciary mechanism which 11 thousand judges and prosecutors in Turkey will trust in and which will sincerely deal with their problems, if we don't want our citizens to have problems in the courts, if we want to attain an independent but also a free judiciary which everyone will trust in, we will say ‘Yes' on 12 September." Bagis also noted these:

"Some political parties may have done wrong things in this country, but if we want those to make their struggle not by means of judiciary but by voting, we will say ‘Yes' on 12 September. 12 September will be the turning point of Turkey's EU accession process. In the 30th year of the military coup, we will say ‘No' to the coup mentality; we will say ‘Yes' to freedom, democracy and transparency.
