THEY SHOULD PUT UP THE SHUTTERS OF TERRORISM
Participating in the fourth meeting of the Provincial EU Advisory and Steering Committee of Diyarbakir Governorate, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis voiced his reaction against terrorism with the speech he made and stated that the solution was democracy and stability.
Expressing that the government embraced the entire country and led the democratisation movement, Minister Bagis said that he was proud of being a member of the government that made the most investment to this region throughout the history of the Turkish Republic.
Stressing that the government had made an investment of 35 billion TL to this geography in the last 9 years, Bagis continued his words as follows:
“Together, we can do one better. I hope we will together ensure that Turkey is not exploited by terrorism. One of the most important problems before Turkey is the trouble of terrorism. Turkey will be a very different country when it is free from the trouble of terrorism. Just because of this, I would like to make a call taking this opportunity. Instead of asking our contented tradesmen to ‘put up their shutters’, they must put up the shutters of terrorism. When the shutters of terrorism are put up all of our tradesmen will earn more, all our people will be more prosperous, more democratic and more transparent. We should stop this bleeding wound of Turkey giving hand in hand. Afterwards we should work to make Turkey more democratic and a richer country. That is why we are persisting in brotherhood, freedom, national unity and solidarity, democracy and transparency. But we should manage this aim altogether. The solution of all our problems is more democracy, more freedom, more investments, more production and more stability. That’s why we should perceive our project of ‘national unity and solidarity’ as a reflection of the EU process. “
