THE 45TH ANTALYA GOLDEN ORANGE FILM FESTIVAL AWARD CEREMONY WAS HELD

Award and closing ceremony of the 45th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival was organized on 19 October 2008 Sunday in Antalya Konyaalti Open Air Theatre. Along with domestic and foreign stars, Culture and Tourism Minister Ertugrul Gunay, Minister of Justice Mehmet Ali Sahin, AK Party Vice- Chairmen Egemen Bagis and Huseyin Tanriverdi; also Antalya Parliamentarians Mevlut Cavusoglu and Abdurrahman Arici attended the award ceremony evening.

Handed over by jury, awards were announced by different artists. But 'Best Movie Award' was announced by Culture and Tourism Minister Ertugrul Gunay. Director Ben Hopkins, who is awarded with sculpture, has given his award by Antalya Mayor Menderes Turel together with TURSAK foundation Chairman Engin Yigitgil.

Participant of the ceremony Egemen Bagis stated:

"Maybe nothing is perfect but nowadays we are organizing such evenings in a country, where not long time; 50 years ago Prime Ministers were hanged after military coups; 40 years ago Dostoyevsky's books were collected and Politicians reading poems were imprisoned. Currently, Istanbul is a culture capital, our negotiations with EU continues, and state ministers have virtue to apologize; Turkey is changing"
