ON THE ROAD TO TURKEY'S EU MEMBERSHIP MEETING
AK Party Vice Chairman Egemen Bagis said "No compromise for democratic values, for our fight against terrorism"Round table meeting on the road to Turkey's EU membership was held in Hilton Hotel by European Forum, which is constituted from 18 foundation and 15 political parties. Bagis said on meeting "Turkey now proud of its secular democracy and growing liberal economy".
Bagis stated "Turkey is member of European and Euro-Atlantic community and on the road to full membership for EU" and added "Turkey having young and dynamic population, have brought peace and security to its region with its modern armed forces and alliances"
Also expressed by Bagis, "a great deal of importance is given for the progress on pluralistic democracy, rule of law and respect to human rights. Beside that, Turkey has important potential for economic growth."
Bagis said "He proud of being representative of a reformist government that is on the center" and noted some foreign observers called this 6 year reforms, change and transformation as a 'silent revolution'.
Mentioning Turkish democracy now is stronger than all previous time; in the framework of 33 chapters of EU reform pact, further arrangements will be done for democracy, basic rights and freedom.
