NO REAL DEMOCRACY IN THE WORLD IS IN POVERTY
In a consultation meeting with high-level businessmen who are fans of Besiktas, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said that whenever there was a stable government, Turkey developed, but whenever there was a coalition government, or prohibitive and coup periods, Turkey became poor.
Indicating that there was no poor democracy in the world, Bagis noted that it was not a coincidence that all regimes which ensured human rights, democracy, and freedom of thought to their people have also provided them with prosperity, and that all states which subjected their people to oppression, prohibitions and tyranny have also condemned them to poverty and hunger.
Indicating that the work they have undertaken has continuously been limited by a mentality ensuring that the decisions for privatization and even decisions taken by the TGNA are annulled, through a restrictive constitution and rulings of the judiciary, Bagis said they would pave the way for this process.
Indicating that some groups are trying to make 12 September an issue for party politics, Bagis said " On September 12, when we take a look at the contents of the Articles that we will be voted, Turkey will decide whether it wishes to have the fundamental rights and freedoms to be guaranteed."
