NATIONAL DAY OF ITALY CELEBRATED

Italy's National Day was celebrated with a reception held at the Italian Embassy in Ankara.

Having participated in the reception, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis, in his speech he delivered there, thanked Italy for its support for Turkey's EU process.

Indicating that Turkey was passing through a plaintive period, Bagis said "In the Mediterranean the civil ships carrying humanitarian aid for humanity in international waters were exposed to inhuman attacks, none of our conscience accepts this attack easily."

Stating that during such a period Italy was one of the first countries that condemned this attack, Bagis noted "International environment gives hope that they are no more a spectator to this pirate pretension."

In addition to Bagis, Minister of National Defense Vecdi Gonul, Minister of Culture and Tourism Ertugrul Günay, President of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Justice and Development Party deputy Kürşat Tüzmen, foreign mission representatives and various guests also attended the reception.

Egemen Bagis and his spouse Mrs. Beyhan Bagis also participated in the reception on the 64th anniversary of the establishment of the Italian Republic organized by the Italian Entrepreneurship in Turkey Gianluca Alberini, in the garden of Venedic Palace in Beyoglu.

Indicating that there was a close friendly relationship between Turkey and Italy Alberini said, "I believe that we will make good works with Turkey".
