MEETING WITH THE TURKISH AMERICAN ASSOCIATIONS
As the Chairman of the Turkey-USA Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Caucus, Mr. Bagis, organized a meeting in Istanbul with all the Turkish American Associations active in Turkey. The purpose of the meeting was the need to act collectively to the unjust and unfair claims on the so called Armenian Genocide and to form a common platform to collaborate among the associations .
The meeting was attended by Egemen Bagis, Chairman of the Turkish-American Business Association Uğur Terzioğlu, General Secretary Mr. Murat Aydemir, General Coordinator Mrs. Nilgün Güresin, Chairman of the Turkish-American Association Mr. Mehmet Buçukoğlu, Chairman of the Turkish-American Business Council Mr. Ferit F. Şahenk, Vice President of the JP Morgan Mr. Koray Arıkan, Political Counselor of the Consul General of the US in Istanbul Mrs. Sandra Oudkirk and other high level managers of the Turkish-American Associations. Participants exchanged views related with the lobbying initiatives in order to prevent the approval of the draft resolution on the "so called Armenian Genocide".
Reviewing the meeting Bagis expressed that everyone in the meeting agreed upon applying political pressure to the CEOs of the American Companies in the US, and having then write letters to the US Senate.
