LETTER OF SUPPORT FROM BAGIS TO “ONE MILLION BOOKS FOR OUR MARTYRS CAMPAIGN”

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator, Egemen Bagis sent a letter of support to the “One Million Books for our Martyrs Campaign” launched by Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University (COMU). 

In his letter to the Rector of COMU, Sedat Laciner, Bagis stated that the Ministry for EU Affairs and he would provide every kind of support to the campaign. Congratulating the Rector Laciner on the campaign, Bagis also wrote in his letter:

''Perhaps there would be no other work as meaningful as the constitution of the biggest and most important library of Turkey in Canakkale, for our martyrs’ soul to rest in peace. A library in a place viewing the fields of the Battle of Canakkale is the most meaningful way to commemorate 100 years of our martyrs’ pass away, who quitted their education to defend our country. I will certainly provide full support to ensure that Canakkale,where our youngsters had been martyred in a way to even out their interrupted education, has one of the most important libraries of Turkey. Within this framework, as a first step, I sent a set of books published by our Ministry. Moreover, I will take the necessary steps to inform more people about the campaign’’.
