JUDICIARY AND FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS FOR LAWYERS TRAINING PROJECT
The protocol ceremony of “Judicial and Fundamental Rights for Lawyers Training Project” supported under the scope of Reuniting Europe Programme and to be carried out by Ministry for EU Affairs, Ministry of Justice and Union of Turkey Bar Association, the British Embassy in Turkey, was held in Ortaköy Office, Istanbul.
The project which was held by the participation of the Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis, Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Nick Clegg, Undersecretary of the Ministry for EU Affairs, Ambassador Haluk Ilicak and the British Ambassador, David N. Reddaway was introduced to the press.
In his speech at the meeting, Bagis indicated that under the scope of the protocol, the support of “English friends” and counterparts would be taken concerning the Turkish law professionals training on the judiciary at the EU standards.
Egemen Bagis implied that under the scope of the project, in 7 pilot provinces, totally 350 lawyers would be trained about EU practices on the judiciary and study visits to the United Kingdom would be organised.
