INDEPENDENT RAPPORTEUR ON TURKEY WAS IN ISTANBUL

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis received Independent Rapporteur for Turkey Alber Rohan, and Murat Sungar, a member of the board of Open Society Foundation.

During the reception held at the Istanbul office of the Secretariat General for EU Affairs, Bagis said that he received two precious people and Rohan was a real friend of Turkey. Indicating that Rohan extended a great support to Turkey's EU accession bid in his previous posts and said "We are pleased to see that Murat Sungar, the former Secretary General of the Secretariat General for EU Affairs accompanied him"

Rohan noted that they assisted Turkey's EU bid and this process should be continued objectively and fairly, he also said "The obstacles on this issue should be removed. We will keep supporting this process because Turkey's membership will be beneficial for both parties.
