FAREWELL RECEPTION FOR AMBASSADOR VOLKAN BOZKIR

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis held a farewell reception to Secretary General of EUSG and Ambassador Volkan Bozkir who resigned and became a parliamentary candidate of AK Party for the elections on 12th June.

Stating that the name of "Volkan Bozkir" had a unifying, infusing and inspirational dimension, Bagis said: "This reception includes a synthesis of representatives from the Secretariat General for EU Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Embassies of EU Member States, media and different ministries.

Bagis said: "Today, we are not saying goodbye to Mr. Bozkir. Rather, I would like to welcome him to this world of politics."

During the reception, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis and Deputy Secretary General Haluk Ilicak on behalf of the EUSG presented a plaque each to Bozkir.

Besides Egemen Bagis, a large number of guests including State Minister Mehmet Aydin, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ambassador Feridun Sinirlioglu, Ambassador of Turkish Embassy to Washington, United States of America Namik Tan and Former Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ambassador Ugur Ziyal participated in the reception.
