EURODESK SPREADS YOUTH INFORMATION NETWORK TURKEY TO 81 PROVINCES

Turkish National Agency called for proposals to spread Eurodesk Youth Information Network, which is in service in 67 provinces with 141 contact points, to 81 provinces.

"Eurodesk Turkey", which has been carrying out activities within the body of Turkish National Agency since 2008, aims to provide information on the opportunities in Europe in the fields of education and youth and on the participation to the activities in Europe.

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis made a statement regarding "Eurodesk Turkey" which ranks first in terms of organization and the number of contact points among all the European countries, and he said: “Eurodesk Turkey under the Turkish National Agency which is attached to the Ministry for EU Affairs provides support with 141 contact points in 67 provinces by giving information, in order to render Turkey’s EU membership process more active in the provinces and to ensure that all institutions, organizations and beneficiaries take more advantage of European Union's social, cultural and educational opportunities and to enable the provinces benefit more from the EU grant funds.

Besides its regular activities to provide information, Eurodesk Contact Points also carry out activities in our country in the European Youth Week. Within this Week celebrated in our country and in the other European countries between 26 May - 2 June 2013, our Eurodesk Contact Points achieved a big success by proving information to 70.000 people on the opportunities in Europe, through 181 activities in our country such as seminars, conferences, workshops, plays and etc. Accordingly, I invite our governorships, district governorships, municipalities, universities, vocational organizations, non-governmental organizations, and all other organizations with a legal entity to join the network of Eurodesk Contact Points that provides service by giving information to our youth about the opportunities within the European Union"
