At the meeting held in Limak Eurasia LuxuryHotel thanks to the sponsorship of Turkish American Businessmen AssociationTABA AmCham, YatırımFinansman and Limak International Hotels & Resorts, marketoutlook in 2017 as well as the developments in the world and Turkish economy wasevaluated. TABA AmCham invited former EU Minister EgemenBağış, Fitch RatingsTurkey Director and YatırımFinansman and Denizbank General Managers from thefinancial sector, as Turkey was negatively evaluated by the credit institutionsduring the July 15 coup attempt. Presentations were made for revision of theratings.
No doubt the most important guest of the meeting was the former European Union Minister and Chief Negotiator EgemenBağış. Stressing that Turkey has always been a country that combines civilizations, the former minister stated that Turkey has entered a different phase with the US and said that “I think the troubles we have experienced in the recent years are rooted in the management vacancy in Washington”. He added the new American administration is gradually taking over the files. EgemenBagispraised Trump’ssuccess as he gets the majority in both the Senate and the House of Representatives. “Trump showed that he was very intelligent and able to take risks. He will surely create a good team. I believe he will be a successful leader having a blend of talents ofReagan and Berlusconi. The US will not ignore Turkey, which has the largest army in NATO after itself, '' he said.
