Egemen Bağış: "New Turkey was at the target of the Fetö betrayal"
"The newTurkey will not be putty of one’s whims"
Former Minister for European Affairs Egemen Bağış stated that the July 15 coup attempt was a betrayal planned and executed by FETO terrorist organization together with the external forces. In his article published in the US Huffington Post, Bağış said "this betrayal was also to bring back the old Turkey, which compelled to say - yes – to every desire from the outside. Betrayal was made against new Turkey.”
Reminding that the outside world wants a Turkey that puts its own national interests aside and fulfills every request, Bağış emphasized that Fetöwhich turned into a heretical sect was a betrayer.
Bağış noted: "The Gülen terrorist organization, which started as an innocent education effort and produced a militant robot, carried its secret agenda as a wolf in the lamb's post. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan saw the intention of this tribelong ago and limited its influence. But this struggle remained limited within the boundaries ofdemocracy and law."
Egemen Bağış reminded that the greed of the Gülen tribe lasted a long time in the form of disinformation, forgery of documents and fabricate evidence, conspiracy, intrigue, montage and black propaganda. He added the conspiracies of the tribe also targeted him and the defamation campaign was carried out against President Erdoğan and AK Party through him.
"The democracy in Turkey has been up, robust and strong since the morning of 16th July. President Erdoğan is on duty with the authority of his nation. Turkey is a friend and ally of the West but not putty of anyone’s whims. New Turkey's priority is its own national interests,” stressed Bağış in the article.
