EGEMEN BAGIS MEETS WITH EXPATS IN BERLIN

Minister for European Union Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis met with the representatives of the Turkish NGOs, following his attendance to the inauguration ceremony of the Berlin office of the Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MUSIAD).

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Bagis said that MUSIAD, as a civil society organization, had made crucial contributions to the development of Turkey since the 1990s and the visionary stance of MUSIAD has always impressed him very much. Minister Bagis added, "MUSIAD is a non-governmental organization which was established by the visionary people who have envisaged today's Turkey in those times when people used to look each other with negative intents. In those days Turkey maintained a different attitude. Turkey suffered from high interest rates and high inflation rates. But now, Turkey improved and started to help those in need.

Addressing to the Turkish citizens living abroad, Egemen Bagis said, "As individuals of the most respected communities of Germany, as individuals who speak German fluently, as individuals who understand the German culture best, and as individuals who have succeeded in full integration without being assimilated, we, the Turks, must contribute more to the development of Germany."

Meeting with the representatives of Turkish NGOs at the Turkish House in Berlin, Minister Bagis called on Turks who live in Germany and he asked them to benefit their democratic rights and strengthen themselves with a better education.
