Egemen Bağış attended the Aşure offering in Fatih.

Mustafa Demir, Mayor of Fatih, and the former Minister of the European Union EgemenBağış offered Aşure to the citizens in the Fatih Mosque after Friday prayer.

Due to the month of Muharrem, Fatih Municipality offered aşure to its citizens in the large mosques of the district. Fatih, Sultanahmet, Süleymaniye, YavuzSelim and Sümbül Efendi Mosques provided a total of 10 thousand people.

Fatih Mayor Mustafa Demir served aşure to the citizens in the Fatih Mosque after Friday prayer with the former EU Minister EgemenBağış. Mustafa Demir, who took the lead by the aşure cauldron, distributed the dessert to the citizens. Citizens who wanted to have a taste of Aşure made long lines.

Former European Union Minister Egemen Bagis said, "May every believers’ good deeds and charity be accepted. May Allah grant all of the ummah the intercession of the martyrs of Kerbela. Fatih Municipality carries out this beautiful tradition by serving Aşure to the citizens as part of a tradition of the month of Muharram in the court of the Fatih Mosque. A citizen named Mehmet Genç, who was waiting for his turn in the Aşure line said: “God bless them all, we appreciate these services of our Municipality. This is a good deed to serve aşure to the citizens for many people can not cook this at home”. CelalKesici added: “May Allah accept our Mayor’s and Municipality’s charity. We cook it every year, but the one that our Municipality serves tastes better.”
