DER TAGESSPIEGEL PUBLISHES THE STATEMENT OF EGEMEN BAGIS
Der Tagesspiegel Newspaper of Germany marked that the Turkish Government reacted to the project of Greece on digging a river bed around the border to prevent the refugees crossing illegally.
The news of Der Tagesspiegel reported that the Turkish Government had gone against the plans of Greece, and that the Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis had stated that whoever dug a hole might finally fall into that hole himself.
In the news, it was reported that Bagis had found it weird and worrying for Greece, which has recently faced a financial crisis, to invest so much money on such a project and he had hoped that Greece did not try to induce a political crisis outside in order to distract attention from this project since it had some problems within the country.
Answering also the questions of Turkish journalists, Bagis stated that as the EU initiated the process on visa exemption, Turkish government would act to approve the Readmission Agreement which was of vital importance concerning the fight against illegal migration.
Stating that providing visa exemption for Turkish citizens will be a significant step for the fight against illegal migration, Bagis said:
"As the EU initiates the visa exemption process, Turkish government will act to approve the Readmission Agreement which is of vital importance concerning the fight against illegal migration. Besides, visa-free travels will provide that all physical travels from Turkey will be on legal grounds."
