BAGIS VISITED THE CHURCH AND SYNAGOGUE IN BESIKTAS
Egemen Bagis, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator, visited the church and synagogue in Besiktas.
Bagis first paid a visit to the tradesmen in Arnavutkoy. Stating that people in Besiktas wanted "service but not show", Bagis said the inhabitants of Besiktas had been longing for a mayor who would get along with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and the central government.
Stating "Besiktas Municipality has never been so close to AK Party that much", Bagis pointed out that, according to the surveys, Sibel Carmikli, AK Party's mayor candidate for Besiktas, was well off and he added that they would win the local elections if they worked hard.
Later, Bagis paid a visit to Ayastrati Arnavutkoy Orthodox Church. There, he was informed by Dositeos, the Press Officer of Fener Greek Patriarchate. Afterwards, Bagis also visited the church's foundation.
Bagis explained the works to be done to the church administration and he asked for their support in the elections.
Bagis also paid a visit to Bogazici Arnavutkoy People Association together with Sibel Carmikli, Besiktas Mayor Candidate. There, he held a meeting with Mahmut Celebi, the chairman of the association, and the administrative staff of the association.
Later, the Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Bagis, visited Etz Ahayim Jewish Synagogue in Ortakoy. There, Bagis met with Silvyo Ovadyo, the chairman of the Turkish-Jewish Community, and other representatives of the Community. Bagis asked for their support in the elections as well.
