BAGIS MET WITH SWEDISH MINISTER CARLSSON

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis met with Gunilla Carlsson, Minister for International Development Cooperation of Sweden, who visited Turkey to attend World Bank-IMF meetings.

Indicating that he had worked together with Carlsson in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Bagis expressed his pleasure to host an old friend. Bagis stated that during the meeting they discussed, among other issues, relations between Turkey and Sweden and Turkey and the EU and the efforts in the field of development.

The visiting Minister Carlsson said that she was greatly impressed by Turkey's hosting of World Bank and IMF meetings and by the good organisation and said that thanks to these meetings she had a chance to meet with an old friend of hers, Egemen Bagis. Carlsson noted that in the meeting they touched upon various policies and issues including developments in Turkey-EU relations and congratulated Bagis on his difficult task of improving relations between the EU and Turkey.
