    BAGIS HOLDS A CONFERENCE ON THE EU AFFAIRS

    Delivering a conference speech at the Ankara University European Research Centre (ATAUM), Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis explained Turkey's EU process.

    Egemen Bagis said that in his visit to Brussels in the 5th year of EU accession talks, he conveyed five messages to his addressees and would continue conveying. Bagis said they wanted fair negotiation talks, visa-free travels, solution of the Cyprus problem by peaceful means, and representation of Turkey in the EU Summits.

    Concerning the short-term improvements in negotiation talks, Bagis said that they would focus on competition policy chapter and they were making effort to open chapters of energy, education and culture and the 23rd and 24th chapters.
