BAGIS EXPLAINS TURKEY TO FRANCE
Travelling to France in order to hold official talks with the French authorities, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis gave a conference called "The Future of Turkey and the EU" at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Paris.
Bagis stated that Turkey was determined to reach its goal; however, it was a pity that the French Government had reflected its attitude for obstructing Turkey's membership to the EU. He also pointed out that the assertions under this obstruction were unfounded.
Indicating that the facts concerning Turkey's membership became evident day by day, Bagis said: "It is evident that Europe cannot achieve a full integration in our continent without Turkey's membership". Bagis also said:
"Besides being the country with the fastest growing economy, Turkey has the youngest and the most educated labor force. Turkey is situated on an important location in terms of both energy security and variety. Turkey is a soft power and a source of inspiration and plays a key role in the region thanks to its geopolitical location".
During his visit, Bagis also met with the French Minister of Interior Claude Guean, Minister for European Affairs Laurent Wauquiez and Minister for Agriculture Bruno Le Maire.
