AK PARTY FOREIGN AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT'S REGIONAL MEETINGS ENDED
AK Party Foreign Affairs Department completed its twelfth and last meeting on 21st of June 2008. The meeting was realized with Egemen Bagis' supervision to which AK Party organizations of Trabzon, Artvin, Bayburt, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Ordu and Rize attended. AK Party Trabzon Deputies Cevdet Erdol and Mustafa Cumhur, AK Party Trabzon Chairman Muhammet Balta as well as many party supporters attended the meeting.
AK Party Vice Chairman Egemen Bagis held a speech on Turkish foreign policy and democratic expansions. Bagis said that Turkey has made a big progress politically and economically and as AK Party we always raise our targets. Bagis also drew attention to the changing image of Turkey and underlined the importance of July 22nd elections and October 21st Referendum.
Bagis stated that, with AK Party's proactive foreign policy, Turkey has become a regional power and it can't be isolated from the global improvements. Turkey has to be active in foreign policy in order to use its richness and with AK Party's understanding of these, in a short time global power scenarios have started to be written for Turkey. Bagis also said that the main opposition party CHP couldn't understand to which level Turkey has come and although they are the opposition party they try to bring Turkey into a chaos environment.In his speech during the meeting, Mevlut Cavusoglu drew attention to the improvements on Cyprus after AK Party government took on power. Cavusoglu underlined that the opposition party CHP tries to use the national feelings of our citizen in order to get their votes. Cavusoglu also mentioned the land sale to foreigners and by giving numbers made it clear that this is not something new, throughout the history it was possible for them to buy and houses in Turkey.
