AJDA PEKKAN'S BENEFIT CONCERT FOR SOMALI

Stating that Ajda Pekkan would perform a concert for Somali at the beginning of October in Istanbul, Kurucesme; Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said: "The revenue of the concert will be granted to Somali to the sorrowful parents of children dying slowly, and who have to live with hunger, drought and famine."

Minister Bagis received the promoters of the "Benefit Concert for Somali" including Ajda Pekkan, Etel Sason, Murat Yildirim and Necati Akpinar at the Ortakoy Office of the Ministry for European Union Affairs and in his speech he delivered after the reception he said: "We talked over the work launched for Somali after the call of our Prime Minister. Ajda Pekkan will attend the invitation of our Prime Minister tonight and will accompany him in his visit to Somali."

Bagis stated the Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan closely monitors the preparations and he also declared that he had met with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Kadir Topbas and as the municipality they would do their best for the promotion of the concert.

Egemen Bagis said: "I especially want to emphasize that we are grateful to Besiktas Culture Center, On Production, Atlantis and primarily Ajda Pekkan for this event."
