A POWERFUL TURKISH LOBBY IN USA

Hosting the Federation of Turkish American Associations (FTAA), Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis indicated that there was a powerful Turkish lobby in America and said “We need to do very significant works together with you in the following process.” 

Minister Bagis came together with FTAA delegation chaired by Ali Cinar for the lunch at TGNA.

Bagis, who had also been the chairman of FTAA for two terms, stated that he spent 17 years in FTAA and had the closest friendships over there and indicated that Volkan Bozkir with whom Minister Bagis had been together at the 10th Annual Turkish Day Parade in 1991 and who had been the then Consul General, was the current Chairman of the TGNA Foreign Affairs Committee.

Minister Bagis said “Today, we are really proud of you. We have a powerful lobby in America. But, I am sure that you are also proud of us and of Turkey. Because now Turkey has a different position in the world. We are the 16th biggest economies of the world, and the 6th of Europe. We have a leader saying “one minute” to the world. We have a Prime Minister who became the voice of world’s conscience.”

Minister Bagis stated that he expected a magnificent Annual Turkish Day Parade in May and said “I am sure that, at the parade, you will ensure that the whole world will get the messages of Turkey from New York streets.”
