WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM, ISTANBUL

Egemen Bagis accompanied our president Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the opening of the World Economic Forum Special Meeting.

The Turkish President, Mr Recep Tayyip Erdogan delivered the keynote address to open the World Economic Forum Special Meeting on Unlocking Resources for Regional Development, took place in Istanbul on 28-29th September.

President Erdogan called for no fly-zone, safe area and train and equip programme for Syria and Iraq. UN Security Council is an old arrangement not fit for contemporary challenges, President Erdogan said.

‘’Our president said I would never come back to Davos in 2009. Davos kept coming back to Istanbul since that day. The World Economic Forum has started.’’
