JEAN MONNET SCHOLARSHIP CEREMONY
The scholars who returned to Turkey after completing their educations in Europe’s most prestigious and famous education institutions within the scope of Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme funded by European Union and implemented by Ministry for European Union Affairs received their certificates in a ceremony attended by Egemen Bagis, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Head of Delegation of the European Union to Turkey, Ambassador Stefano Manservisi on 17 June 2014.
Ambassadors, Representatives from the National Assembly EU Harmonization Committee, Delegation of the European Union to Turkey, Ministry for EU Affairs, Central Finance and Contracts Unit and Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme assessors were among the guests of this meaningful night where 2012-2013 academic year Jean Monnet scholars received their certificates.
Egemen Bagis commented on the rumours that Jean Monnet and Erasmus programmes would be cancelled after December 17th.
‘’Every successful project like Jean Monnet and Erasmus suffered with slanders and lies since december 17th in our country. The traitors claimed that there were irregularities within these programmes and would be cancelled. As you can see, we are celebrating with the scholars and the top level representatives from the EU in an event to prove that these programmes will continue to develop’’ said Mr Bagis.
After speeches and certificate ceremony, the group had photographs taken as the ceremony came to an end.
