"NONE OF US HAVE DOUBT THAT TURKEY WILL COMPLETE EU PROCESS WITH PATIENCE, PERSEVERANCE AND EFFORT"

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis came together with David Miliband, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of England, who made a work visit to Turkey.

In the joint press conference held after the meeting at the Secretariat General for EU Affairs, Bagis stated that England was a friendly and allied country which supported Turkey's EU membership bid publicly and which expressed its support explicitly on every occasion.

Noting that EU process was not an easy process, Bagis said, "Membership process wasn't easy for any country, England included. Nevertheless, none of us have doubt that Turkey will complete this process with patience, perseverance and effort."

David Miliband, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of England, stated that Turkey and England worked together in international organisations such as UN and NATO and said, "Now we will work together in the EU. What we want to achieve through working together is Turkey's membership to the EU."

Afterwards, Bagis and Miliband attended the publicity event of the project titled "My City" which was held in the British Embassy in Ankara.
