EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES IN EUROPE THROUGH JEAN MONNET

Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme was announced for 2014-2015 academic year. Within the framework of Turkey's goal of full EU membership, Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme aims to support Turkey's administrative capacity building efforts for the effective implementation of the EU acquis, through enhancing its human resources in the relevant disciplines.
To date, Jean Monnet has provided education opportunities for 1500 scholars in 16 different Member States. The number of the scholars will reach to 170 for the following academic year, who will be granted about EUR 6,6 million, including employees of public and private sectors, non-governmental organizations, students, academic and administrative staff of the universities.
The programmed is funded by the EU and implemented by the Ministry for EU Affairs. Application deadline is 10 February 2014.
“Equipped with social and professional skills, Jean Monnet scholars are involved in post-graduate education and research programmes in the most successful educational institutions within the Member States under the different headings of the EU acquis and contribute to Turkey’s accession process in various aspects” said Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis stating that Turkey’s EU team was seeking for new members.
Underlining their pleasure to see that the scholars, whom they considered as the EU visionary eurocrates and businessman of future, were following closely, in their academic studies, the change and development of the EU and the EU agenda, Minister Bagis said “Believing that Jean Monnet Scholars will shape the common future of Turkey and the EU, I would like to invite all to apply to Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme”.
