WE ARE THE CHILDREN OF THE SAME LAND
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis addressed to people at the Istasyon square in Kurtalan District of Siirt.
Stating that they did not discriminate among citizens, Bagis said that the CHP mentality which sent soldiers to the east but constructed factories in the west was now over and continued as follows:
"The same service provided to Edirne will be provided to Kurtalan. The service provided to Bursa will be the same with the one provided to Siirt and Sirnak.
We are the children of the same land. If we attempt to make discrimination then we would be denying ourselves. Discriminators do not have the face to look at us neither in this world nor in the other."
Regarding the visit he paid to the election office of DTP, Bagis indicated that he, while walking on Gures St., had entered the election offices of CHP, DP and DTP and had a chat with people there and continued: "I told my friends there that we could be members of different parties with different views and we might be the parties of a political competition; however we should have carried out this competition with a democratic maturity and unite around the one who wins the election. Because we are brothers and sisters and we wouldn't let this country be divided, we wouldn't let those brothers and sisters shatter each other. But they did not want to understand us. They attempted to answer us in such a way which was inappropriate for democratic maturity."
