AK PARTY SAYS NO TO THIS CONSPIRACY

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis, pointing to those who try to gain advantage by creating discord in the country, said: “They have become habituated to fishing in murky waters by causing instability. AK Party has said ‘no’ to this; that’s why they are disturbed.”
In his speech at the 11th Regional Meeting held by the AK Party Political and Legal Affairs Directorate at the AK Party Istanbul provincial headquarters in Sutluce, Bağış pointed out the importance of recognizing the distance Turkey has come in the past fifty years since the signing of the Ankara Agreement, especially the past decade, and outlined the work carried out by the Government.
Bağış, who indicated that certain persons had created ‘a storm in a teacup’ over the transfer of a few trees from one park in Istanbul to another when all else was going well, said:
“This is not a coincidence. This would not suit the interests and preferences of those who are inclined to think ‘Turkey has become much stronger. At this rate, it will not be possible to hold this country back. We were accustomed to a passive ally but Turkey today is a country that is able to put its own priorities and interests first.’ They believed that they would be able to hinder us, but thankfully our country has responded as necessary.”
Bağış emphasized the importance of trying attempted coups in time in preventing other such attempts. He added that if peace and stability were to be disrupted, interest rates would rise first and this would result in speculators gaining great profits.
    Bagis continued to say:
“Our Prime Minister has said a few words about February 28 supporters in the business and media world. They have been tense for days now. It’s not a free-for-all anymore. They deceive the low-income youth and send them out onto the streets, get them to curse the policemen of the country, and then they just sit back with ease. Most of these people then shamelessly went on their summer vacations. They cunningly continued to conspire during their vacations. Now, they are waiting for the universities to open. The demonstrations in May were held for the trees, but now what is the reason for the demonstrations being held now? There is no reason. Without discomforting themselves in any way, these people say ‘in this country there are young people who are Alawis , young people who are from low-income groups, people with different beliefs, people from different ethnicities whom we can deceive’, because this is what they have become accustomed to doing. To this day, they have become habituated to fishing in murky waters by using these people as pawns to create discord and instability in this country. AK Party has said ‘no’ to this; that’s why they are disturbed.”
