    CHEMICAL WEAPON ATTACKS IN DAMASCUS

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis answered the questions regarding the chemical weapon attacks in Damascus and stated that the violence in Syria was a human tragedy that went beyond the borders and could under no circumstances be accepted by anyone, and he added: "The mentality which kills those babies and little children using chemical weapons cannot be considered as belonging to a human, let alone a Muslim."

At the Ministry's Office in Ortaköy, Bagis answered the questions of the press members on the agenda and regarding the latest developments in Syria Bagis said:

"The violence in Syria is a real human tragedy that goes beyond the borders and can under no circumstances be accepted by anyone. The mentality which kills those babies and little children using chemical weapons cannot be considered as belonging to a human, let alone Muslim. All humans should raise their voice together against this. Unfortunately, today the United Nations has cumbersome structure unable to take the necessary steps. For the world's nations, it is time to put forth their 'united hearts', rather than relying on the United Nations. If those united hearts manage to display a common attitude, they might be able to prevent the blast in The Middle East from impairing the world as well. Thus, the principled and upright stance of Turkey should be taken as exemplary and as an approach of inspiration for whole countries in the world."
