"WE HAVE NEVER BROKEN APART FROM YOU"
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said: "We have never broken apart from you. We know that if we break apart we will be chastened as the previous ones.
A ceremony was organised for the joint inauguration of investments and services of approximately 23 million Turkish Liras of the metropolitan municipality and district municipalities and for the symbolical destruction of Bayrampasa Jailhouse which was closed recently.
Egemen Bagis made a speech in the ceremony and said that the amount of foreign capital entered Turkey annually before their government had been around 1 billion dollars but now became 20 billion Dollars. He stated that the meaning of this increase was more prosperity, employment and technology which would help Turkey to compete with the world.
Bagis indicated that everyone remembered the days before 1994 when newspapers distributed gas-masks against air pollution as their promotion, bulks of garbage exploded and many people suffered disk herniation as a result of carrying water.
Bagis stated that the Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan has contributed a lot to Istanbul since the time when he was the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor. Bagis added that they are getting prepared to continue 5 years more to the performance displayed by Erdogan together with the current Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, Kadir Topbas.
Bagis declared that since the time they came into power, they have been exerting efforts to solve the problems of Turkey, they omitted 6 zeros from Turkish lira, decreased mortality rate, enabled people to live in modern apartments, distributed course books free of charge to the children living all over Turkey; and he added that they have achieved very important things in security, education and justice issues.
Bagis said: "We have never broken apart from you. We know that if we broke apart we will be chastened as the previous ones. We achieved a lot with your supports. No power can stand your power. We take our strength from our nation".
Moreover, Abdülkadir Aksu, AK Party deputy chairman; Kadir Topbas, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor; and Zenum Bayezıti, Kosovo Interior Minister delivered speeches in the ceremony.
