TURKEY MAKES A REMARKABLE PROGRESS IN THE LAST DECADE
Participating in the 1st Financial Literacy and Inclusion Summit, Minister for European Union Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis stated that Turkey had made a remarkable progress within the last decade and said, “Turkey has become Europe’s most dynamic economy by attaching importance to the financial literacy through stability, credibility and well-defined fiscal policies.”
Delivering a speech at the Summit organised in Istanbul jointly by the Turkish Economy Bank (TEB) and Financial Literacy and Inclusion Association (FODER), Minister Bagis expressed that Turkey had made a remarkable progress within the last decade and continued his words as follows:
“Turkey has become Europe’s most dynamic economy by attaching importance to the financial literacy at the national level through stability, credibility and well defined fiscal policies. 10 years ago, Turkey was displaying a different stance before the EU but today Turkey has reached to a different point. Now we can say, “Hold on tight, Turkey will come to the rescue of Europe”. This is the indicator of our self-confidence. Turkey is the same as before but when it is well governed and the financial literacy is introduced, different results are obtained. Turkey has new objectives for the year 2023. We have initiated a social mobilisation in order to become one of the most powerful 10 economies in the world.”
