CIVIL SOCIETY IS THE GREATEST SUPPORTER OF TURKEY’S EU ACCESSION

The article, “The Greatest Supporters of Turkey’s EU Accession: The Civil Society” written by the Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator, Egemen Bagis was published in the Mercek Magazine dated April, 2013. 

Egemen Bagis referred in his article to the EU Accession Process and the importance of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) during this process and stressed that it was very important that the NGOs participated in the activities to inform the public for their adopting the EU values and putting the EU norms into practice in daily life.

Minister Bagis said, “Since I took the office, I have attached importance to work in close relation with the NGOs and carry out the EU Accession Negotiations together with them, and I am still doing so. In fact, we accept each NGO as a natural member of the EU negotiation team.”
