PM ERDOGAN IN THE MIDDLE EAST
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited Middle East countries regarding to the developments in Gaza Strip. AK Party Vice Chairman Egemen Bagis, Prime Minister Political Advisor and Adana Deputy Omer Celik, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister, Ambassador Ahmet Davutoglu, Ambassador Ali Yakıtal, a delegation including Prof. Dr. Nabi Avcı and Doc.Dr. Yalcin Akdoga accompanied to the PM during the visit.
Prime Minister Erdogan first arrived to Syria and had a meeting with Syrian President Bashar Assad in the Presidential Palace. Bashar Assad underlined the importance of Turkey's taking initiative in critical phases in the Middle East and emphasized the importance of visit during this period..
Prime Minister Erdogan stated that the aim of this trip was 'to evaluate the worrying developments in Gaza Stripe and to end the tragedy of humanity.' As he finished his contacts in Syria, Erdogan and his delegation wnet to Akabe, Jordan. Meeting there with Jordan King Abdullah, Erdogan then come together with Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas in the Movenpick Hotel.
Afterward, Erdogan visited Sharm el Sheyh, Egypt and met with President Hosni Mubarak at Royal Club Hotel.
Finally, Erdogan and his delegation including Foreign Minister Ali Babacan and AK Party Vice Chairman Egemen Bagis visited Saudi Arabia and met with King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to discuss last developments in Gaza Stripe.
