A EUROPE WITHOUT ISTANBUL WILL BE VERY POOR
Delivering a speech in the symposium named as “Turkish Maritime Sector on the EU Path”, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağış said that Europe would be very poor and plain without Istanbul.
Bagis, stressing that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was the captain of the conscience of not only Turkey but also the humanity, said “Be sure that the helm is in safe hands, the ship is in the hands of the right captain, it moves forward rapidly towards the port of contemporary civilizations.” Minister Bagis, stating that the ship of Turkey moved forward in its course ignoring the hurricanes and left the risk of capsizing behind, indicated that Turkey reached into a different point. Bagis said “Turkey is no longer a country which hopes for help from anyone. Now it became a country which the others hope for help from it. We rescued Turkey from the desperate crew.” Minister Bagis, indicating that Prime Minister Erdoğan revived the hope of the humanity waiting at the port of justice and conscience, said today Turkey which became the hope of its region was the key country for the world peace.
Minister Bagis, stating the issue of green passport in his speech, said “Hopefully, we will provide that all citizens of Republic of Turkey, not just those with green passports, will travel to Europe without visa. We are working for this.” Bagis, underlining that Europe would be very poor and plain without Istanbul, said “I believe that the forthcoming process will be much easier, however I call the European Union to think what would their ship which started to take on water do in the face of much more difficult whirlpools if they would not give up this stubbornness.”
