FAREWELL DINNER FOR ROSS WILSON
Turkey-US Interparliamentary Friendship Group organized a dinner to honor Ross Wilson, U.S Ambassador, who has completed his term.
Dinner was held in Turkish Grand National Assembly. Chairman of the Turkey-USA Interparliamentary Friendship Group and AK Party Antalya Deputy Mevlut Cavusoglu and AK Party Vice-Chairman Egemen Bagis, who had carried the task in 22nd term and other members of the group, attended the dinner.
In his speech, AK Party Antalya Deputy Mevlut Cavusoglu noted the importance of the Turkey-US relations and said that Ambassador Wilson performed his duty in Turkey during an important term. Cavusoglu said: "Four years ago, we 'welcomed' you here and again from here we are saying 'goodbye'. But actually it is not a farewell."
In his farewell speech Wilson said that he doesn't know yet whatever he will do in USA when he returns back, and emphasized that Turkey is an important country for him. Wilson stated: "I have been working in Turkey for 3 years. I could not learn Turkish. Since you are my best friends you won't be angry to me because of this."
Cavusoglu said to Wilson: "In Turkey we have a proverb: A cup of Turkish coffee has 40 years memory and presented him a Turkish coffee set as a gift. Egemen Bagis also presented a ceramic plate with an embroidered logo of AK Party as a gift.
