CONFERENCE ON TURKEY-EU RELATIONS AND NEGOTIATION PROCESS

Paying an offical visit to Budapest Hungary, minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis delivered a speech themed "Changing Dynamics of Turkey-EU Relations: New Opportunities and Challenges" at Andrassy University.

During the conference where Turkey-EU relations and the negotiation process were discussed, Minister Bagis remarked that he found the slogan "fit to Europe"-used by the university- very interesting and said: "We can adopt this slogan for the EU membership process. Referring to the said slogan, Minister Bagis said: "Turkey is a country which fits to Europe."

Repeating the slogan "Resist Europe, Turkey is coming to save you" which he repeated frequently to his collocutors and reminding that Turkey was the 6th most powerful economy in the Europe and 17th in the world, Minister Bagis said: "Turkey is the Europe's fastest and world's second fastest growing economy with an %8,5 growth rate of 2011."

Telling that he believed the friendship and alliance ties between Turkey and Hungary would become even stronger, Minister Bagis stated that Turkish and Hungarians had always supported each other in their independent fights and efforts to establish a new state.
