BAGIS PAYS AN OFFICIAL VISIT TO ITALY

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis and his accompanying delegation paid an official visit to Milan, Italy. 

In the first day of his visit, Minister Bagis delivered a speech at the conference themed ''Turkey as an Emerging Regional Power: Challenges and Opportunities” held by ISPI (Institution for International Policy Studies).

Meeting with Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Italy Marta Dassu after the conference, Bagis attended the opening ceremony of “Turkey: Missing Star” film festival in Milan and delivered a speech in his first evening of the Italy visit.

After his programme in Milan, Egemen Bagis began his second day programme with meeting with President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Gianfranco Fini in Rome. Turkey's EU membership and contemporary issues in Turkish ad Italian politics were discussed in the meeting. Within the framework of his contacts, Minister Bagis met with Andrea Riccardi, Minister for International Cooperation and Integration Policies of Italy.

On the third day of his Italy visit, Egemen Bagis delivered a speech themed “The EU and Turkey: Confronting the Mediterranean Challenge Together” at the Institute for International Relations (Istituto Affari Internazionale-IAI).

After participating in the cocktail party and the opening ceremony of the festival of the 2nd Turkish Film Festival of Rome after the conference, Minister Bagis and accompanying delegation have left Rome.
