EGEMEN BAGIS VISITS TRNC
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis paid an official visit to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Minister Bagis was first hosted by Dervis Eroglu, the President, during his visit to Nicosia, the capital. Minister Bagis, noting that he was visiting the future EU Presidency that he wished to see, said “We really consider it to be important that TRNC has now proven its adequacy and demonstrated its capacity as a country in every respect.”

After the President Eroglu, Bagis visited Irsen Kucuk, the Prime Minister of TRNC and indicated that our Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave a great importance to the stability of TRNC obtained through the Prime Minister, İrsen Kucuk, and followed the development with pride.
Minister Bagis met with Huseyin Ozgurgun, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of TRNC and said “We will continue our cooperation for countries’ interests. TRNC had a significant progress during the last decade. When we look back, we are very proud and pleased.”
Bagis was also hosted by Hasan Bozer, Speaker of TRNC Republican Parliament, and gave a lecture on “Fatin Rustu Zorlu: EU and Cyprus” in European University of Lefke at the same day.
During the conference in which the contributions of Fatin Rustu Zorlu, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of TRNC, to the Cyprus and EU process were discussed, Minister Bagis said that the messages delivered by Turkey related to TRNC were provided by the determination of Fatin Rustu Zorlu.
