TURKAK WILL CARRY OUT STUDIES TO PROVIDE GLOBAL PRESTIGE TO TURKEY
Receiving new members of the Executive Board of the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TURKAK), Minister for European Union Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis chaired the first meeting of the Executive Board.
In his speech during the meeting held at the Ministry for EU Affairs, Minister Bagis indicated that, TURKAK had become the affiliated institution of the Ministry of EU Affairs after being restructured, and he said that TURKAK was the institution which determines the accreditation for the materials to be produced with global standards in Turkey and until now more than 600 companies had been accredited by TURKAK. Expressing that the Agency would carry on its efforts on industrial, food and health products in the next period. Bagis continued his words as follows:
“For the next period two of the most significant issues for us are to determine halal food standards, and to carry out studies that will provide Turkey global prestige. Such studies can also be seen in Malaysia and Indonesia. Indeed, the certificates of accreditation given by TURKAK will make our products draw considerable interest among all countries of the region, especially in the Middle East.”
On the other hand, while the Deputy Undersecretary of Ministry of EU Affairs; Ahmet Yucel was appointed as the Chairman of TURKAK Executive Board, others who were appointed as the members of the Executive Board, are as follows:
Isa Coskun, Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Abdurrahman Celik, General Manager of Copyrights of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Akif Ozyurt, Member of Board of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, Ahmet Keles, Executive Board Member of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) and Selcuk Ozturk, Chair of Executive Board of Konya Chamber of Commerce.
