    5.5 MILLION EURO GRANT FOR TRANSFER OF INNOVATION PROJECTS IN VOCATIONAL TRAINING

    In the scope of Leonardo da Vinci Vocational Training Programme Innovation Transfer, over 5.5 million grant was allocated for 25 projects to beneficiary institutions as a result of 2012 application evaluation process by National Agency, which is related institution of Ministry for European Union Affairs.
    It is pointed out in the written statement by Ministry for European Union Affairs that, in the scope of the project to be executed with these grants received by many institutions such as universities, public administrations, NGOs, companies and business organizations, vocational training and education system in Turkey is planned to be improved with the best practices and innovative approaches in this field,.
    It is expressed in the statement that quality and attractiveness of vocational training and education will be increased thanks to the cooperation with partner institutions in European countries within the scope of transfer of innovation projects.
    Expressing his thoughts about these grants, Minister for European Union Affairs and the Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said “Thanks to the Transfer of Innovation projects, partnerships will be established at European level, worldwide practices, methods, experiences, concepts, policies and innovations in the field of vocational training and education will be introduced to the vocational training system in Turkey. Besides, thanks to these projects, which will ensure that vocational training programs are developed in a way that responds to the needs of the business world, more qualified labour force will be created in medium and long term. I am of the opinion that these projects supported by National Agency have an important role in economic and social development of Turkey. I expect from the institutions which will execute these projects to share their knowledge and experience with all the stakeholders in Turkey and disseminate the outputs of the project”.
    In the statement where it is pointed out that National Agency provided 28 million euro grant in total to vocational training projects within the scope of 2012 budget when we consider  5.5 million Euro grant provided to transfer of innovation projects together with 22.5 million Euro grant given last month to Mobility and Partnership projects which are sub-activities of Leonardo da Vinci program, it is also recorded that total grant, which is provided to training, education and youth organizations together with those allocated or to be allocated by the end of the year  to other EU education and youth programs executed by National Agency is expected to be approximately 100 million Euro and number of beneficiaries to be 55 thousand.
    It is pointed out in the written statement that a remarkable international experience opportunity will be given to the young citizens most of whom are still students and in this scope they will spend one week to one year in European countries for education purposes within the context of the mentioned grant.
