TGNA DELEGATION VISITS BELARUS
Turkey Belarus Parliamentary Friendship Committee visited Belarus between 16 to 19th of June 2008.
The delegation consisted of AK Party Istanbul Deputy and Chairman of Turkey Belarus Parliamentary Friendship Committee Reha Camuroglu, AK Party Vice Chairman and Istanbul Deputy Egemen Bagis, AK Party Antalya Deputy Mevlut Cavusoglu, AK Party Istanbul Deputy Ibrahim Yigit as well as CHP Tokat Deputy Orhan Ziya Diren and MHP Erzurum Deputy Zeki Ertugan.
The delegation met with Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Kobyakov, Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Martinov, Minister of Trade A.I. Ivanov, Minsk Mayor Mihail Pavlov and Belarus Parliament's Congress of Representatives Vice Chairman Sergey Zabolotets.
Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Kobyakov underlined that the bilateral relations between two countries have improved vastly during the last two years and they are seeking for new economical projects to realize with Turkey and that they are welcoming Turkish investors. Kobyakov also said they also would like to have good bilateral relations in other sectors like tourism and others.
AK Party Vice Chairman Egemen Bagis told that turkey was one of the first countries that recognized the independence of Belarus on 1991 and they too want to improve bilateral relations with Belarus. Bagis also underlined that two citizens of two countries feel close to each other and the number of Belarusian that are visiting Turkey each year is a sign of it.
