NO VISA FOR TURKISH CITIZENS

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis attended “No Visa for Europe Conference” held by the Center for European Union Education and  Youth Programmes (National Agency).

In his speech, Egemen Bagis stated that their expectation for the upcoming term was the preparation of an action plan for visa exemption and the content of this plan would meet the expectations in the process towards visa free travel to Europe.

Stating that EU’s visa regime had no economic, legal, social or political grounds, Bagis noted that Turkey’s economy continued to pursue a stable and high growth line despite the economic challenges in Eurozone and the fact that Turkish people visited Europe for economic, touristic or cultural purposes would contribute to reviving the EU’s economy during that period when Europe experienced a severe economic crisis.

Following their speeches, Minister Bagis and other officials saw the "Youth Caravan" off which started out its journey for a visa free Europe.
